The murder of Victor Hugo Daza Based in the history of our struggle for water for a long time. We are shocked to learn of the death of Victor Hugo Daza and highly condemn Captain Iriarte for the terrible act of shooting Victor. We still do blame the government for the privatization of water which has affected our indigenous community. Especially the women, daily have to spare the little dirty water fetched from miles away for only cooking and little for the children to drink, no bathing, no washing etc. The denial of water indirectly by privatization and making it expensive for the poor community, we stand on our feet to praise Victor Hugo Daza, though he is dead but the struggle continues. Why should Victor's life be taken away like that for the sake of the poor community globally? Indeed he is a true protester. We Kaabong Women's Group, we protest the death of Victor and continue to be against privatization of water to private corporations so that the poor community do not get access to water at all, yet water is life for all. "Bravo Victor Hugo Daza". Power to sisters |
